Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is an autonomous body formed under the Maharashtra Secondary Boards Act of 1965. The board primarily authorizes SSC and HSC exams for 10th class and 12th class students respectively. It is one of the popular educational boards in the country. It has the highest number of enrollments into high school in the country after CBSE. The board was established with a motive to regulate and supervise the secondary education in the state of Maharashtra. The board sets rules and regulations for the schools and junior colleges that are affiliated to it. The board follows the guidelines set by the state as well as central boards. The board every year prepares syllabus for all the classes and publishes text books. It is the one that drafts the exam schedule. Other than the regular exams the board also conducts centralised tests for the contenders. The Mah board conducts secondary and higher secondary e
